Full details here

This is their third season of plays.  2008 saw performances of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (details here), and in 2009 they played an inspired comedy entitled 'Sherlock Holmes and The Curse of the Werewolf' (details here).  Produced, directed and acted by  local people, these plays delight and entertain.

Some old friends from the RSC rehearsing in the garden for their performance at the Dolphin on St George's Day 2010. Simon Russell Beale CBE, Olivier Award winning David Haig, Susie Fairfax and Julia Gray (stage name Jane Galloway and out of shot).    More details here and pictures here

Previously at The Dolphin...
In January 2009 Burns Night was celebrated in style with pipes and haggis.  Read about it here.   Focussing on England, St George's Day 2010 saw a remarkable session of poetry read most beautifully by four old friends from the RSC including David Haig and Simon Russell Beale (picture above).  For Christmas 2008 the owners and friends of The Dolphin built a model of the village of Lower Sydenham entirely from gingerbread. With a church, pub (The Dolphin of course), garage, school, manor house and several houses all packed with sweets, the village went on display in the pub for two weeks before being raffled off building by building with all proceeds donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust. More details here with  some pictures here.
